SPINAL MUSCULAR ATROPHY
2007 ARROWHEAD BOYS SOCCER CITIZENSHIP PROJECT
Initiatied and conducted by Coach Paul (JV Soccer Coach)...
...THANK YOU Coach Paul for all your efforts!

Coach Paul's e-mail written to those at SMA:

Dear Joe, Jenny and Reagan,

Every year the soccer program at Arrowhead High School does a citizenship project to help develop positive character traits in our student athletes.  You may remember me mentioning at the golf outing this summer that Families of SMA was going to be one of our worthwile causes this season.  The coaching staff educated the players on SMA using some of the materials you provided at the outing , and then each team conducted a fund-raiser.  The players took their citizenship responsibilities very seriously, and did a tremendous job both educating the public about SMA and generating donations.  Because of their hard work we were able to make significant contributions to two great causes--a player in our program whose mother needs a bone marrow transplant, and FSMA.  I am proud to say that we sent a check for $2,500 to FSMA in honor of Reagan, and she now has the thoughts, prayers, and best wishes of many people in the Arrowhead community.

SMA's response to Coach Paul:

Dear Coach Paul,

Everyone at FSMA is extremely grateful for the Arrowhead Boys Soccer Program's fundraising efforts.  We're glad you got to know Reagan and appreciate this adorable little girls everyday struggles.  The monies you've raised will go towards research and family support for those affected by SMA.  We will be listing your fundraiser in our next issue of Directions, our quarterly published newsletter.   Thanks again for all your hard work to help find a treatment and cure for SMA!

Best Wishes,
Julian
