2005 ARROWHEAD BOYS SOCCER
CITIZENSHIP PROJECT

“Working on a Championship While Building Character.”

Upon the suggestion of Mitch Konkol and as part of our "Thanks" and "Appreciation" week the Varsity Boys soccer team under-took two projects through the American Red Cross.  They are explained below:

The first was a hygiene drive for the three local American Red Cross Shelters in the Greater Milwaukee Area.  All of these products (such as soap, shampoo, disposable razors, toothpaste, etc...) must be new and will be donated to the Greater Milwaukee Chapter for the needy and less fortunate.

The second is a global initiative which vaccinates children in Africa and Asia against Measles, the leading preventable killer of children in the world.  Each vaccine costs about a dollar, so each dollar raised would vaccinate one child.

The Results...

The results from the 2005 Hygiene and Vaccinations Drive were staggering.
The boys collected all of the Hygiene products shown above and $735 which will be put towards Measles vaccinations.  That's 735 vaccinations for less the fortunate children of Asia and Africa.
